Never compromise on sleep.
This is the most important rule in my operating manual.
Before sleep tracking apps and Oura rings, before Huberman protocols and EightSleep mattresses, before it became a status symbol, I had this simple rule.
Back in 2007, sleep was definitely not cool. 😂
The cool thing back then was not needing sleep, pulling all-nighters and sipping on energy drinks. I never did that and never will.
I'm not a morning person, so I start at 10am and I go to sleep at 10pm. No complicated routine—just consistency. The reasoning is simple: I make worse decisions, write worse code, and generally perform worse without proper rest.
People think I'm stubborn for this, but I’m not so bothered by what others think is "cool." The irony is, getting good sleep is now cool.
